Preservation of healthy culture

  • Strengthen capacities of local and professional cultural groups for advocacy, Theatre for Development (TFD) and entrepreneurship
  • Engage in vigorous education programmes to re-orient Nigerians to support healthy culture.
  • Advocate for qualitative mass education to promote cultural values and norms.
  • Collaborate with Tourism Boards, Performing artists, Ministry of Cultural and Social Orientation to entrench healthy culture.
  • Encourage and support local, national and international arts and exhibitions, regional integration and international networking.

 

Economic Empowerment of the deprived, excluded and vulnerable populations

  • Skill acquisition training, equipment and supplies to the less privileged
  • Micro-credit facilities and revolving loans to support groups, deprived and indigent persons
  • Advocate that socio-economic rights are made JUSTIFIABLE i.e. Education, work, shelter etc.
  • Design programmes to improve the economic well-being of the people – women & rural dwellers
  • Strengthen capacity of low and mid-income earners for target investment.

Interconnectivity at the grassroots

  • Encourage political participation and political empowerment of women by developing their capacity, creating awareness and securing an enabling environment for women’s participation in the political process.
  • Encourage and facilitate the participation of women in various aspects and phases of the electoral cycle, including voting, nomination, candidature, campaigning, and analysis of recent electoral experience to draw lessons for future elections
  • Build grassroots support to inform community participation in health and cultural issues
  • Establish and sustain community driven projects/systems
  • Utilize community structures (NGOs, CBOs, FBOs, Associations, etc) to provide reproductive health and socio-cultural programs.
  • Design and implements grassroots, community driven programs that is supportive for enabling environment for SRH information and services.

Gender equity

  • Strengthen institutional capacity to support advocacy for gender balance in decision-making process
  • Education and elimination of gender discrepancies at all levels
  • Support and strengthen institutions that address domestic violence-prevention, defense and justice/social support
  • Build support systems for compulsory women/girl child education, elimination of gender related practices-early marriage, female genital mutilations, child trafficking, sexual harassment etc.
  • Promote women's employment and decent work, and improve labour protection and social security systems

Civic education and political participation

  • Enhance civic knowledge, civic skills and civic disposition in communities where we work.
  • Strengthen the ability of citizens and civil society groups to organize themselves, interact with others, and make their voices heard by those in power.
  • Encourage political participation and political empowerment of women by developing their capacity, creating awareness and securing an enabling environment for women’s participation in the political process.
